New Mothers Prayer for March 13th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I have been sitting in a small low place. Not despair, but a quiet stuck. Avoiding the call. Avoiding the walk outside. Avoiding the friend who would understand.
In Your Word, four men at the gate asked, 'Why sit here until we die?' They moved because staying still was just as dangerous as stepping out.
I feel that too. The risk of one small step is not as costly as the slow shrinking from sitting still.
Move me today. One thing. One phone call. One walk around the block. One honest sentence to my partner. You are already with me in this chair, and You will meet me as I rise.
I rise.
Amen.
