New Mothers Prayer for March 8th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says we go through hard things to reach Your kingdom. Paul was stoned and left for dead. My hard things are not like his.

But they are still real. I grieve the life I had before. The tiredness has not let up yet. It hurts to do this without my own mother close by.

Do not let me pretend these things are small. They are part of how You bring me home. They are not side roads. They are the road.

Help me walk this stretch without bitterness. Other saints walked harder roads. You met them along the way. You are meeting me along the way, too.

Your kingdom is real. This work is real. Both at once. Hold me up to the next bend.

Amen.

  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
