New Mothers Prayer for February 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 62 says, "My expectation is from Him." Not from the people around me. Not from how the day goes. Not from whether the baby sleeps tonight.

I have been leaning on my partner, on my mother, on friends I do not see enough. They will not always come through, and that is not their fault. They were never meant to carry what only You can carry.

Even in this tired season, You have given me moments that take my breath away. Help me hold both the joy and the weight, and not pretend one is not there.

Take the pressure I have put on others and place it back on You. You are not too tired. You are not distracted. You are not still hurt by something said weeks ago. You are steady when everyone else is human.

Teach me to bring to You the things I have been asking them to give. My need to be seen. My need to be helped. My need to know I am not failing.

Amen.
