New Mothers Prayer for February 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says that when I make You my home, I am safe. Not just safe like hiding. Safe like living.

I have run to You in the scary moments. The pediatrician's call back. In the middle of the night when she would not stop crying. The first day I was alone with her, and did not know if I could do it.

But You are not just for emergencies. You are for the daily things too. The cup of coffee at six. The chair by the window. The quiet between feedings. Let me live in You through all of it.

Make my whole day a place where You and I are at home together. Even the dishes. Even the dull stretch after lunch.

Amen.
