New Mothers Prayer for February 23rd

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, in Hebrews 13:5, You said, "I will never leave You." Tonight I want to hold those words and not argue with them.

There are moments in this season when I feel almost alone. Not abandoned in any clear way. Just alone in the long hours when no one else is awake.

But You have not left. That is what You said. So even in the rocking chair at three in the morning, when the house is dark, and my partner is asleep, and the baby is finally quiet on my chest, You are here.

I do not need to feel something big to believe that. Your promise stands even when I feel nothing at all.

Stay near, even silently, even just by keeping that word. It is enough.

Amen.

  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
