New Mothers Prayer for February 22nd

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You held Joseph with Your strong hands, and that is where his strength came from.

My arms are tired today. I have held this baby through three feedings already. The strength I have is borrowed, and it shows.

Hold my hands the way You held Joseph's. Not so I can do big things. So I can keep doing the small ones without dropping anything.

The next bottle. The next change. The next stretch of bouncing her by the window. I do not need superhuman energy. I need Your steady hand under mine, the way I keep my hand under her head.

Strengthen me to be gentle for one more hour.

Amen.
