New Mothers Prayer for February 20th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You are the God who comforts those who are cast down. Not those who have it all together. Those already low.

I have been ashamed of being low this week. Not in a big way. Just heavy. Slow. Quieter than usual. Wondering what's wrong with me.

You comfort the cast down. I do not have to climb to my feet before You come. Your comfort is for the floor.

Sit with me here. Let the comfort be small. A short stretch of quiet while the baby sleeps. A line in Your Word that meets me. The sense, when I look up, that I am not alone in this kitchen.

There is still joy here, too, even on the hard days. I do not want to miss it.

That is enough for today. Lift me when I am ready.

Amen.
