New Mothers Prayer for February 15th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says in 2 Peter 3, "To Him be glory both now and forever." Not someday when life is easier. Now.

It is so easy to wait. To think I will give You praise when the baby sleeps through the night. When my body feels like mine again. When I can find the couch under the mess.

But glory is for now. The glory in this house is the simple fact that You are honored when I get up at three and feed her one more time. It is also the quiet joy of holding her close in the dark.

Let my small, ordinary obedience today be an offering of glory. Not impressive. Not noticed. Real.

Receive it as You receive larger offerings, and let me return to the chair lighter.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
