New Mothers Prayer for February 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says that when I suffer, Your comfort grows in me too. I do not like that. I want the comfort without the hard nights. I want to skip the crying and keep the quiet joy. But the comfort I have known has not come from the easy times. It has come in the chair at three, with my baby finally asleep, when You met me in the hush. Do not let me run from the hard things. Let me stay long enough to find the comfort You have for me. Then send me back to my day, lighter than I was before. Amen.
