New Mothers Prayer for February 11th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Acts 4, people saw the disciples and knew they had been with Jesus. Not because of their words. Because of something steady underneath.
I do not want that for a crowd. I want my baby to grow up feeling that her mother's life was shaped by being with You. Not because I told her about it. Because she felt it.
I cannot make that happen. It only comes from actually being with You, even now, in the small minutes between feedings.
Let the time I spend with You today, however short, sink deep. Let it shape the way I speak when she cries at three. The way I look at my partner when he comes home. Let her grow up around that quiet steadiness.
Amen.
