New Mothers Prayer for February 8th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You gave Jesus His name because He saves His people from their sins. That is who He is.
I have tried to save myself from things this week. From boredom. From worry. From feeling small. The phone. The snack. The small escape into someone else's life on the internet.
None of those save. They only delay.
Jesus saves. From the real things I am running from. From the loneliness in the long afternoon. From the fear that I am doing this all wrong.
When I want a small fix today, turn me to His name. Even silently. Even just the word Jesus, said while I am bouncing her to sleep. That is real prayer.
Amen.
