New Mothers Prayer for February 1st
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says, "They shall sing in the ways of the Lord." I have not sung in a while. I have hummed lullabies. I have whispered prayers. But I have not sung.
That is okay. Singing will come back when it comes back. Some weeks are just quiet and tired.
But today, let me notice the sounds around me that still praise You. The bird outside the window. The neighbor's radio. A friend's voice on the phone. These still belong to You, even when I have nothing to give.
When my voice comes back to me, I will not pretend it never left. I will be so grateful. Until then, let me walk with You in the quiet, and trust that singing waits for me on the other side of these long nights.
Amen.
