New Mothers Prayer for January 29th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, most of what is real in this house is unseen. The bond forming between this baby and me. The patience being built in me through hours that no one notices. Your nearness in the rocking chair at three in the morning.

I am tempted to value only what is visible. The fed baby, the folded laundry, the photo on the family group chat.

Train me to value what is unseen. The faithful small love. The prayer no one heard. The quiet choice to keep going when I am tired, and no one sees.

These are not nothing. These last. The seen things age and stop. But You, God, are building something that will never end.

Amen.
