New Mothers Prayer for January 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You promised to help me. I need to believe that today.
I have not always thought of help as a real thing You give. I have thought of it as something I should be able to do without.
Let me believe You today. The morning bottle, the load of laundry, the call to my mother I have been avoiding, the moment my patience will run out around three. Help me in each, plainly, the way someone in the kitchen hands me a knife I needed.
You do not roll Your eyes at the small requests. You are not stingy with help. I put down my pride and ask. Be near. Move my hands. Bring me through.
Amen.
