New Mothers Prayer for January 7th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I want to say that to live is Christ, but today that feels hard to say. Right now, to live for me is feedings, laundry, a body that does not feel like mine, and the slow ache of a love I did not understand before this baby came.

Maybe living for You in this season looks different from what I thought. Maybe it is not some big mission. Maybe it is being present in a small kitchen, choosing tenderness when I have no energy left.

Help me stop comparing this part of my life to what I think following You is supposed to look like. Be with me in the ordinary work of these hours. Let me follow You without trying to perform for You.

That is enough. Let it be enough today.

Amen.
