Kids Prayer for December 26th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the day after Christmas is a strange one. The wrapping paper is in the trash. You have given me good things, even on this quiet day. Open my eyes to a quiet kind of gladness today. The day after a big day is its own gift. I do not have to be sad that the noise is gone. Quiet is a different kind of celebration, and You are in the quiet just as much. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
