Kids Prayer for October 10th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, my brain has old paths in it. Worry paths. Mean paths. Lazy paths. Please build new ones that lead to You. You can change how I think. The trails I have walked a hundred times do not have to be the trails I walk tomorrow. Cut a new path through the woods for me. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
