Kids
Kids Prayer for September 6th
A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Paul and Silas sang songs in jail at midnight. Most people would cry. They sang. I do not always feel like singing when things are hard. Teach me to. Even just a tiny song in my head, like humming or whispering, 'You are with me.' You are with me when I am stuck, just like You were with them. Singing in a dark place does not mean the dark is not there. It means I trust You are bigger than the dark. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
