Kids Prayer for September 2nd

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, You told us to get our minds ready, to stay alert, and to keep hoping all the way to the end. So I am asking You: help me focus today. Wake up my brain. When it runs toward worry, pull it back. When I start to think about everything that could go wrong, point me to what You have already promised. Help my hope last past lunch, past homework, past bedtime. Keep it going all day long. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
