Kids Prayer for August 4th
A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, You say my life is like a race, and some days it feels really hard. I want to quit my homework on the first sentence. I want to quit being kind by lunchtime. Help me stay in the lane You gave me. Keep me from jumping into someone else's race today. My race is enough. Set the pace for me, Lord. Sprinting is not the goal. I just have to keep running with You. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
