Kids Prayer for July 6th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You said that when I listen to You, I will be safe. I want that. But listening is hard for a kid. There are screens and brothers and bird noises and my own loud brain. Teach me how to listen. Not the fake nodding kind, but the kind where my heart actually slows down. When I do listen to You, fear gets smaller. Make me a listener today. I want my ears tuned to Your voice the way a dog's ears tune to its name. That quick. That glad. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
