Kids Prayer for April 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, in Luke 23, Simon was just walking by when soldiers made him carry the cross for Jesus. He did not sign up for it. Sometimes You give me jobs I did not ask for too. Help me help my brother with his homework. Help me listen when my friend needs to talk. Help me carry what You put in my hands, even when I was just trying to walk by. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
