Kids Prayer for March 12th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Dear God, You told us to love our neighbor. My neighbor is the kid who is mean to my brother. My neighbor is the family that plays loud music late at night. My neighbor is the lady at the store who talks too loud. Loving them is not easy. Help me not just notice the difference between “like” and “love.” Help me start with one small kind thing. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
