Kids Prayer for January 29th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Heavenly Father,

The Bible says the things I cannot see last forever, but the things I can see will fade away. My toys break. My favorite jeans get too small. The candy in my Halloween bucket runs out. But Your love does not run out. Your kindness does not run out. You made the people I love forever. Help me care more about the forever things and less about the stuff in my closet.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
