Kids Prayer for January 13th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, in Your Word, a king built ships that never sailed. They broke apart before they ever left the dock. I know how that feels. I have plans that did not work out. The Lego set is still missing its last piece. The friendship that fell apart. The dream I am not sure about anymore. Maybe my wrecked ships are okay. Maybe You have other boats for me. Maybe the broken plans are making room for Your plans. Help me trust You with the plans I cannot fix. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
