Kids Prayer for January 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, it is dark outside, and the stars are still up. You made the light, and You made the dark, and You said both were good. I am glad. Last night, the dark scared me. I had to leave my closet door open with the hall light on. Thank You that morning always comes. Thank You that even at night, You can see in the dark. Help me trust You when the lights are off, and my brain starts making up monsters. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
