Kids Prayer for January 4th
A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, I want to grow. Not just taller, even though I do want that too. Your Word says to grow in knowing You. So help me know You better next year than I do today. Help me listen better in church. Help me actually read the Bible instead of just pretending. Help me ask questions when I do not get something. I do not want to be the same kid forever. Make me bigger on the inside, please even if no one can see it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
