Grandmother’s Prayer for October 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I have been carrying Your true words for decades. They have been steady ground when other things shifted. If we die with You, we will also live with You. You came to save sinners. You started a good work, and You will finish it. These old sayings are not new. But they are sure. They hold my life up like strong beams hold up a house. Lord Jesus, this morning I am tired. There is no big reason, just the weight of many days. Your words hold the roof up while I rest. I do not have to find a new thought today. The old sayings are still doing their work. Lean on them with me. Let me wake up tomorrow and find my life still standing because Your words are still in place. They were faithful before me. They will be faithful after me. Today, they are faithful to me. That is enough for a Monday in late October. Amen.
