Grandmother’s Prayer for October 3rd
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says that You send angels to help those who belong to You. I do not always see it. Sometimes I think help came from somewhere else. I do not need to know all that the angels are doing. I just know You sent them, and I am one of Your own. Lord, when I look back over my years, I remember close calls in the car, a stranger who said just the right thing at just the right time, a change in plans that kept me from harm. I always thanked You for those moments. Maybe some of that quiet help was angelic, sent by You. I do not have to be sure. I can just be grateful. Send what You see fit today. Thank You for the unseen help across all my years. Thank You for what I will only understand later. Keep me a humble recipient. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
