Grandmother’s Prayer for September 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your eyes are always on us. You see every one of us, all the time. You do not just glance. You do not look away. You see me. Lord, the quiet of older life can feel lonely. The grandchildren are busy. The friends who used to call are fewer in number. The days can feel long and still. But You see me from heaven. You do not skip my home because it is small. You do not skip an ordinary day because nothing big is happening. You do not skip me because I am quiet. You see me whole. You saw me whole when I was a young woman with no confidence, and You see me whole now. Your seeing has never stopped. Let that comfort carry me through the silence of this morning. The phone may not ring. But the eye that matters does not need a phone. Amen.
