Grandmother’s Prayer for September 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says in 2 Peter 1:4 that we have been made partakers of Your very nature. That is not a small thing. I am just a creature, but by Christ, I share in what belongs to You. Lord Jesus, You have given me Your life by Your Spirit. It has been slow and quiet. It has shaped the way I love, what I am drawn to, what bothers me, and what comforts me. The seed of Your life is in me, and it grows because You are at work, not by its own power. Today, let me partake on purpose. Let me sit at Your table and take what You offer. Not perform. Not earn. Just take. The bread of Your life given to me. The water of Your Spirit given to me. The Father's love given to me. Make this a day of receiving from You. Amen.
