Grandmother’s Prayer for June 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Hosea 14:1.

Father, You called Your people back then, and You are calling me back now. I have not fallen the way Israel fell. But this past month, I have drifted. I did not mean to. I just let the days crowd You out. I let my heart go quiet.

Today, Your word calls me back. Not with big words. Not with a long plan. Just a simple turn. I face You again. I come home.

You have not moved. You have not changed. You are still my God. The things that pulled me away are real, but they are covered by Your Son. So I come back now. Simply. Honestly.

Let me find what I hope is true: that Your door was open the whole time.

Amen.
