Grandmother’s Prayer for June 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Servant in Isaiah set His face like flint toward the cross. His direction was clear. His heart was firm, not hard, but faithful. I do not carry a cross like His. I carry an ordinary day with small things inside it. Still, let my face be set. Point me toward obedience in the little tasks. Point me toward kindness in every conversation. Point me toward truth in my own thinking, not the easy kind that only makes me feel good. Your Servant said, The One who makes me right is near. That same God is near me today. Let my small steps follow the same direction as His great ones. Let this day unfold as You have planned. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
