Grandmothers
Grandmother’s Prayer for June 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You said in John 10:28 that You give eternal life and no one can take Your people out of Your hand. That verse is one of the safest places in the Bible. You give. You do not loan. Eternal life is a gift. No one is strong enough to pull me out of Your hand. I have lived long enough to know Your hand has held me. There were times I felt loose in Your grip. But Your grip was not loose. There were times I felt the enemy was about to pull me away. He could not. You said he could not, and You were right. Let me rest on that again this morning. Your hand is the same hand. Your gift is the same gift. Your promise is the same promise. You are the same Lord. I am not just hoping I am safe. I am held by You. Let me live today knowing that. Let me be glad I am held. Amen.
