Grandmother’s Prayer for June 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your word says that Belshazzar was weighed and found wanting. That sentence still shakes me. He fell short, and his kingdom was taken that very night. Without Jesus, I would stand in the same place with the same result. I do not want to pretend at my age that I weigh enough on my own. I do not. But You do not leave me there. In Christ, the weighing has already been done. He was weighed and found to be more than enough. What He did is counted as mine because I trust Him. The verdict that should have ended me has been covered by His mercy. You are not weighing me under a rule of "do better." You are weighing me under grace, where my lack has been filled by Your Son. So let me not despair. Let me not pretend. Let me live today as someone whose debt has been paid and whose future is secure in You. Amen.
