Grandmother’s Prayer for May 25th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You spoke to Your friends the night before everything fell apart. You told them not to let their hearts be troubled. You did not say the trouble was not real. You said to trust You anyway. I bring You my small troubles this morning. They are not as big as theirs were. But they still weigh on me. My heart wants to hold on to the worry. Help me to hold on to You instead. I do not need the trouble to go away for my heart to be calm. You can quiet me while the day is still in motion. Let my trust be bigger than my fear. Let it outlast this trouble. It always has before. I believe in You. I believe in Your Son. My heart is Yours this morning. Amen.
