Grandmothers
Grandmothers Prayer for May 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14.
Father, You said it twice because You know how hard waiting is. Some of my waits have lasted years. Some started this week. But the waiting is the same. It is not doing nothing. It is trusting You while I watch and hope.
Give me the small courage that does not need attention. Strengthen my heart in the quiet way only You can. Let me wait through this morning. Let me wait through this afternoon. Let me wait through the night if I still need to ask.
The waiting will not be wasted. You are not late. You are always right on time. Help me trust You while I wait.
Amen.
