Grandmother’s Prayer for May 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You are faithful. You called me into the life I share with Your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord. You called me a long time ago. I do not remember all the details. But life with Him has never stopped. I have been distracted. I have wandered. Your patience has held on through all of it. Your faithfulness is what keeps this going. Without it, I would have walked away years ago. But You refused to let that happen. Let me rest in that today. I did not call myself. I am not keeping this going by my own strength. You are faithful. Life with Jesus will go on. He is the same today as He has always been. My small, tired day does not change the size of what You have done. Let me bring this ordinary day into the life I share with Him and live inside it. Your faithfulness will keep doing its quiet work whether I notice or not. Today, with a grateful heart, I notice. Amen.
