Grandmother’s Prayer for April 21st

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn, and He will heal us. He has struck us down, and He will bind us up. Hosea 6:1.

Father, this verse tells the truth. The same hand that tears is the hand that heals. The same God who allows the hurt is the God who wraps it up and makes it whole.

I have known some tears in this long life. Not all of it was easy to understand at the time. But I have always, in the end, seen Your healing follow.

So today I turn back to You. Not because of some great sin. Just because my heart drifted a little this week, I got quiet when I should have been close. I wandered a small step away.

Turning back is the right word. Coming home to where I have always belonged.

You are the Lord who tears and heals. You are the Lord who corrects and restores. You are the Lord who let me drift and now calls me back.

Let my turning be quick and honest. Let Your healing follow today, in the small ways You mend an old soul that has come home.

Amen.
