Grandmother’s Prayer for April 12th

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your heart was melted like wax from the inside. You were undone on the cross for the love of the people You were dying for. That melting was Yours to bear. I will never bear it, because You fulfilled it. And the benefits come to me through what You bore.

Sometimes the older I get, the more I am undone by one small thought—how much You suffered for a life like mine. I am one of many. But I am not insignificant inside Your love.

Let me receive Your love this morning with the steady gratitude of someone who has read the gospels for sixty years and still finds the cross stranger and more precious than she did at thirty.

You were poured out. You were melted. You rose. You live.

Amen.
