Grandmother’s Prayer for April 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Son has gone into heaven itself. He is there right now, in the real holy place, standing in Your presence for us. Not for Himself. For us. That is the part I keep coming back to. His work for me is not done. It is happening right now. The churches I have worshipped in over the years were copies of something greater. He has gone into the real one. I cannot see that place from this kitchen. But I can rest in the fact that He is there. Everything in my day depends on what He is doing in that place. The mercy I find in the chapter I am reading. The grace that sustains me through the hard phone call. The peace that comes, and I cannot explain where it came from. All of it is coming from a Savior who is at work for me right now. Let me live today like a woman who trusts the One who is fighting for her. I do not need to do His work for Him from down here. Amen.
