Grandmother’s Prayer for March 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You told Your servant to hope, and I am holding on to that today. Psalm 119:49. I am bringing back to You the promises I have leaned on for a long time. You said those who sow in tears will reap in joy. You said You will not hold back any good thing from those who walk uprightly. You said none of those You gave to Your Son will be lost. You put these hopes in my heart. I did not make them up. I am giving them back to You now. Remember them for Your servant, who is older now and quieter but still hoping. The hope has not been wasted. Your promises have not been taken back. Keep them in Your sight today. Keep me in Yours. This conversation in my kitchen is older than my memory, and so is Your faithfulness to it. Amen.
