Grandmothers
Grandmother’s Prayer for February 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You said that if we have seen Your Son, we have seen You. That is what I keep needing to hear. I keep asking to see You more clearly, as if I have not already been seeing You. But I have. In the kindness of a stranger, when I was struggling. In the right Scripture arriving at just the right time. In the strength of someone I love who made it through what should have broken them. In my own ability, on most days, to keep going. You have been showing me Yourself all along. I do not need a louder sign. I need to trust what You have already shown me. Let me believe today that Your Son is enough. He has always been enough. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
