Grandmothers
Grandmother’s Prayer for February 13th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your love is astonishing. You have called us Your own children. That is who I am. I have believed this for so long that I sometimes forget how amazing it is. But it is still true. You gave me this name. It is mine forever. I do not have to earn it. I already wear it. The world may not know what that means. I do not need the world to know. You know. That is enough. Let me sit inside that truth again this morning. Let me look up from my own thoughts and be astonished again. I am prone to take this for granted. But You called me Yours. That is the ground I am standing on this morning.
Amen.
