Grandmothers Prayer for February 3rd

A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, David said he told You his sin and did not hide his wrong. I want to do the same today. I have been carrying small things into this week. Not the big sins from long ago that You already forgave. The quiet ones. The ones that grow when life gets still. The little thrill when bad news comes for someone I do not like. The pinch of envy when someone else's life looks easier than mine. The self-pity when my phone stays quiet all day. These are small. But they are mine. I am not hiding them. I am not making them smaller than they are. Forgive me through Jesus. Lift these things off me before they settle in and feel at home. David felt relief after he was honest with God. Not a big showy relief. Just the quiet lightness of telling the truth. I want that today. Let the rest of this day feel lighter because I told You everything. Amen.
