Grandmother’s Prayer for January 27th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says we have all received from Your fullness, grace upon grace. I am still a slow learner when it comes to this. After years of receiving, I still catch myself begging like a stranger at the door instead of living like someone who belongs in the house. But Your grace is not a one-time gift. It keeps coming because You are the supply, and You do not run out. So this morning let me receive again. Let me not be ashamed to need so much from Someone so generous. A child can eat a full meal and still ask for one more cookie. That asking does not wear the parent out. It just shows the child knows where the good things are. Let me know where Your grace is. Let me ask without trying to earn it first. Let Your grace keep coming, and let me keep receiving it. Amen.
