Dads
Dad’s Prayer for December 26th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You tell us in Your Word that the first Adam brought death, but Jesus, the last Adam, became a life-giving Spirit.
The day after Christmas, help me see what the manger really means. It is easy to stop at the baby. The infant is sweet. He fits on a card. But You sent more than a baby. You sent the Son who lived, died, rose, and now rules over everything that fell.
I tend to settle for the small story. The easy part. Help me hold the whole Christ this week. Not just the manger. The risen Lord who is at work in me right now.
Lord Jesus, You are the new Adam. Undo what the first one broke. Where I pass on anger, give me patience. Where I fail my family, give me strength. Where I give up, give me hope.
Renew me today, Father. I do not want a small faith. I want all of You.
Amen.
