Dads
Dads Prayer for December 25th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You are with us. That is what today is really about. Not the rush, not the stuff. You came near.
Today I have a long list: stockings, breakfast, presents, the meal, the mess. Help me not to miss why we are doing any of this. In the middle of the noise, give me a moment to stop and remember.
The shepherds had the simplest Christmas. They went, they saw, they went back home, full of joy. No tree, no gifts, no plan. Just hearts full because they had been with Your child. Let that be true of me, too, even with all the clutter.
Lord Jesus, You came. You are with us. Make my house quiet, even for a minute, because of that. Let the love at this table be my small way of saying the world changed the day You were born.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
