Dads
Dad’s Prayer for December 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You said in Jeremiah 31:3 that You have loved me with an everlasting love. You drew me with kindness, not with force. You have been pulling me toward You with a long, patient love I did not always see.
I have sometimes thought of You as strict, just giving commands. But You are a Father whose kindness pulls me close. I do not need to be afraid. Your kindness is like a rope around my waist, tugging me gently toward You.
Let me feel that tug this Christmas. Not guilt. Not duty. Just Your steady love pulling me along. Some years, I get too busy and miss it. Help me notice You this year.
Lord Jesus, You are the love that draws me. Pull me closer to You this December. I will follow where Your kindness leads.
Amen.
