Dads
Dads Prayer for December 19th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Proverbs 16:33 says the lot is cast into the lap, but every decision is from You. Even what looks like chance is in Your hand.
I call a lot of things luck. Good luck. Bad luck. But the verse changes that. The roll of the dice in my life sits in Your lap. The coworker I happened to sit next to, the deal that fell through, the news I did not expect — none of it was outside Your view.
Help me see Your hand in what looks random. Not all at once, but slowly, as I look back and notice what I missed.
Lord Jesus, You sit at the right hand of the Father. Steady me with that when this week does not go the way I planned.
Amen.
